Gniezno Powiat (Polish Administrative Unit)
good place, royal tradition Gniezno Poviat is an area of 1254 km2 located in Wielkopolskie Province - one of the largest regions of Poland in the west of the country. Poviat - in the Polish self-government system is the second level of local administration. Gniezno Poviat includes in its area 10 communes of different sizes. The capital of the Poviat is Gniezno - the first historical capital of the country.
The motto of the Poviat points to the origin of the region. It was here where the Polish State came to being. In Gniezno the first five kings of Poland were crowned and the first achbishopric was set up.
Till today many sacral and historical monuments from before one thousand years have been preserved in the region. Gniezno is also the main attraction of a well-known and popular tourist route - The Piast Route. Travelling along its roads one can feel the breeze of history and move back to the old times. The tourists are awaited by numerous sacral buildings, palaces, manor houses, museums with unique exhibits and regional chambers fostering the traditions of the region.
The whole of the lowland landscape is varied by large forest areas, numerous rivers, natural lakes and hills from which one can see wonderful views.

Convenient location allows one to come to Gniezno easily. From two London airports (Luton - Wizzair airlines i Stansted - Ryanair airlines) planes take off to Poznań (Ławica airport) - the capital of Wielkopolskie Region, distant from Gniezno by 50 km. From there one can go to the final place of destination by train, car or bus.
